Just a couple of days ago, some of us 'oldtimers' here at www.Chumly.com began sharing stories on how and why we ended up here and why we decided to stay on, eventually forming the team of colleagues and friends that we are today.
One of us - our CIO, Alex - brought back to our attention the fact that 99% of the work we've done to move Chumly from a rather shaky pre-alpha release in january 2010 to the great product we are now able to present, has been done using that very same product.
The alpha - or at least the idea behind it - was so strong that we could use it as our platform for collaboration from day 1. And of course, this platform has evolved side by side with the site itself. We created groups to be able to discuss delicate matters in private. We shared files, documents, screenshots.. You name it, we sent it.
And this is still one of the functions of Chumly that came about pretty much unintentionally. Because we weren't trying to create a site for collaboration on project. Had it been so, we would've probably tried to become Google Wave instead of Chumly. Chumly Wave... ;)
I think what Alex pointed out to us with his mention of the collaborative power of Chumly, was that not even we - the guys and gals behind the curtain - are able to fully grasp the enormous potential of our creation.
From time to time we just stop, look around and say "WOW! I didn't know we could do that!"
I wonder what you would say after spending some time at www.chumly.com?
