Some of you might have heard about the Fair Tax initiative in the U.S. It has been attempted every year since the late 90's, and was started by some folks in Texas, because it seemed like our present tax system was getting way out of hand. I just received an email from  FairTax.org www.fairtax.org/site/PageServer and it happened to contain a picture now running in papers around the U.S. that very clearly explains the concept. (There is a lot of mis-information from detractors who would like to see the current plan kept in place, or who want to use it as a scare tactic to defeat a political opponent. I think that if the word gets out so that people truly understand it, the use as a political weapon will backfire.)
